Sai's Niece's Birthday Party

Last night was little Rania Batrisya's birthday party at Sai's place. We sure had a blast, and the food was great. Sorry if the images are a tad blurry. I think I'll expect more night events coming up so I should start investing on an SB-800 speedlight pretty soon.

Sai said he looks cute in this photo, so I did him a favor and post this up.

ICC Job Fair

I crashed to the International Convention Centre yesterday afternoon for the Annual Job Fair. Lots of graduates and youths flocked into the the event to sign up for a career talk and walk-in interview, an opportunity for the unemployed.

According to a UBD friend, statistics have shown that around 8000 locals are currently unemployed, among them are graduates. I suppose this event will help reduce the unemployment issue facing the nation, and a chance for the youth to unleash their talents.

Throughout my visit, I've seen potential SMEs showcasing their company booth and encouraging locals to apply for jobs in their organizations. Along the way, I've met several familiar faces.

Shutterbug Apprentice Part 2

A while back I've blogged about taking a macro shot of a flower at my mom's little garden outside the house (click here.) I was using my 2 megapixel Sony Ericsson K750i back then (pictured above), and I was fussing about wanting to get a dSLR. Fast forward 2 months later and I'm shooting the same flowers again, and this time with my Nikon D80. Can you tell the difference?

Rimba Dusk

Yesterday's dusk was amazing. Lucky I brought along my gear and managed to take a few shots around Rimba (was chilling at Wazzie's crib for lunch earlier).

Let's Go!

The famous giant chicken. Notice the bird perched on its comb.

Shutterbug Babble

It's been over 2 weeks since I first got myself a dSLR, and in just 2 weeks I've started to think and talk in the language of shutterbugs. Even some of my friends didn't get what the hell I've been babbling about sometimes. Scary!

An illustration of what's in my head right now

I Would Wanna Live Here

It's oddly interesting how bruneians prefer to construct their own houses rather than living in apartments or terraces. This has been a tradition for many years. But surely won't we wanna live in a place like these?

Oh and by the way, these photos are genuinely shot in Brunei, but didn't it made you feel like you're somewhere else earlier? Maybe it's the trees...

The Morning Interview

This morning, 6 selected final year students including myself went for the interview for our upcoming industrial attachment at Armada Properties. These photos were taken in the waiting room. The meeting session was pretty tough though, but it all went pretty well.

Nervous much?
