Testing SB-600

I'm really enjoying this flash unit I bought 3 days ago for my camera. Lately I've been experimenting portraiture shots with my new SB-600 at home in order to learn the proper techniques of using a flash unit, and I had my little sister as my model. She's a real sport. Hmm, when was the last time I did portraitures and posted them in my blog?

Raya's gonna be exciting for me this year. I'm definitely gonna carry around my entire gear and take lots of photos every chance I could get during 'beraya' with my friends and family next week. For now, I need to keep on practicing with flash photography.

Milk Teeth Boy

I took this kid's candid photo at Empire a few weeks back. At first I neglected it as it was part of a series, but I had another look at it last night and realized that it's got potential. Hehehe.

Digital Darkroom Moments

I'm currently trying out this new software I just bought yesterday. It took me quite a while to get used to the interface. I really enjoyed it after lots of experimentation with my stock images. I gotta say, 5 hours in my darkroom almost got me pretty nauseous.

Today's model for my portraiture is Nur 'Ain Afzan, or Misses Achong. For the first time, I'm using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for my post-processing. After lots of tweaking, I've finally managed to recreate this amazing result. I can't say its perfect though, its just my first shot at using Lightroom. There's still much to learn.

The Silhouette Models Revealed

Sooner or later I'll have to reveal the ladies who posed in my silhouette shoots. Its getting more controversial udah. Ada sorang atu pikirnya si Zahrah. Ada lagi sorang atu prasan ngakun dirinya yang kana gambar atu. Ish ish. Well now its time to reveal the models behind the Silhouettes and end all doubts.

This was actually a little project I've conducted last weekend at Empire Hotel & Country Club to experiment on portraitures. I've had a great time working with them and once again I would like to say thank you very much to Anis, Yazmyn and Syeedah for making this project a huge success. Here's the latest of my work so far, featuring Yazmyn.

Razi

Yet another successful portraiture, and for the first time, I've found a male candidate. Thank you so much Razi for being my first male model. You've made my job a lot easier. I need more photogenic male models like this guy, seriously.

Afternoon Tea in Wazzie's Kitchen

Another successful portraiture I've made this week. This time, the lucky model is my good ol friend Wazzie. This was taken yesterday in her kitchen when we were having our afternoon tea at her crib. Did I ever mentioned she baked the best brownies as well? Nantitah mengambar lagi.

The Art of Portraiture

It used to be tough designing portrait art, particularly when using a compact camera or a camera phone (yuck!). But now, thanks to my Nikon D80, I'm finally able to create what I've enjoyed doing for the past 9 years since I first started using PhotoShop. LoL, macam buat iklan As-Seen-On-TV.

So I've found a perfect model, again using the economical approach as I've mentioned in my earlier blog. This time my subject is the lovely Zarah, a fellow colleague from the Business School. She's very VERY photogenic. And so, I shoot, and transform her image into this stunning portrait.

Well, I gotta say, there's still so much to learn, and yes, a 50mm prime lens would've made this photo even more perfect, but for now, I'm using whatever advantage I could get out of my one and only 18-135mm zoom lens and available ambient light. The sun is my friend (walaupun semakin hari semakin panas).
