Finally put my DIY strobe kit to good use.

Home Strobe Experiment

I just got my new difusser yesterday, so I did a test run on it on my wireless flash hooked on my DIY lightstand straight after work. I thought I could catch the sunset at someplace with a great view but I've only managed to strobe at home. My siblings volunteered to be my subjects. Anyway, these are just experiment shots, so do mind the slippers. I gotta say, I was quite happy with the results, but I need to experiment more. Strobing is indeed tricky. Gotta learn from the masters.

Further Experimentation

Since I'm no longer unemployed now, I need to juggle up time between work, photography and blogging. Anyway, here are more pictures taken from last week's photoshoot with the Featuring Dancers in the evening of The Empire Hotel & Country Club. Just some different design experiments I've been working on these past few days, something to keep this blog occupied while I'm still trying to re-organize things and adapt myself in the working life.

Featuring Dancers Photoshoot

Yesterday's photo-shoot at Empire Hotel was a success, thanks to these photogenic dancers all the way from UBD. It's been awhile since my last model photo-shoot and I'm glad I had another round yesterday for these guys. The whole strobing was really fun.

Excapade Studio

No, not exactly a studio. Even if there is one, the models would probably end up smelling like raw fish. I'm just 'borrowing' the lighting from the interiors of Excapade Gadong to take pictures of these models Milla, Teddy and Khy.

Farewell To a Friend

Rasy (right) will be leaving for U.K. this 24th. Last night was probably the last time I got to catch up with her and her friends at her farewell dinner and tahlil gathering at her place. Probably, if I couldn't make it to the airport this Sunday evening. Have a safe trip Rasy.

Midday Silhouettes

The last time I shot my first silhouettes was weeks ago. I thought I'd give another shot and had my own school mates posed at the Rizqun Ballroom last week prior to the Seniors' Graduation Dinner. As it turned out, silhouettes can be captured at midday.

The Silhouette Models Revealed

Sooner or later I'll have to reveal the ladies who posed in my silhouette shoots. Its getting more controversial udah. Ada sorang atu pikirnya si Zahrah. Ada lagi sorang atu prasan ngakun dirinya yang kana gambar atu. Ish ish. Well now its time to reveal the models behind the Silhouettes and end all doubts.

This was actually a little project I've conducted last weekend at Empire Hotel & Country Club to experiment on portraitures. I've had a great time working with them and once again I would like to say thank you very much to Anis, Yazmyn and Syeedah for making this project a huge success. Here's the latest of my work so far, featuring Yazmyn.

Fun With Silhouettes

When the sun sets, it makes a great setting for silhouettes, especially when you have your subjects standing directly in front of the source of light (the sun), preferably at the beach. Eventually, I got these amazing results from my previous shoot.

I wish to thank Anis, Shidah and Yazmyn who volunteered for this photoshoot and helped made this project a success. Those girls are fantabulous! I highly recommend they sign up for a modeling agency.

My Photogenic Little Sister

Finding a model for your portrait shots can be a pain in the neck sometimes. You have to set an appointment with her, buy her lunch, etc. Hahaha. Just kidding. Me, I'm taking it to the most economical approach for a start. So I've decided to 'kacau' my little sister outside my house yesterday afternoon and with the help of the ambient light from the 5.45 pm sun, I've managed to capture this photo of her.
