Lens For Sale

Attention Nikon users. I'm selling this lens on behalf of a friend. It's the excellent Nikkor 18-105mm with VR, popularly included as a kit lens for the Nikon D90. It's in VERY GOOD condition, as its hardly used (he's got another lens to go with his camera, so he's letting this one go). Includes hood and pouch still wrapped and in mint condition.

Shiny and still brand new

This is an excellent lens if you wish to replace your 18-55mm kit lens due to limited range. Plus with VR, even on zooms show minimal signs of camera blur, ensuring constantly sharp results on your shots. If getting the 18-200mm VR is pricey for you, then get this lens. For the entry-level camera users, this lens will fit in the D40, D60 and the latest D5000.

Selling price: B$500.00 (negotiable).

Memoirs of a Satisfied Lens User

Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro

I think I've made a fine investment on this awesome lens. No longer do I need to carry my cheap-ass kit lens with me. Nope, this is just the only thing that's attached on my camera body for the entire time, unless if I need to get a little more creative then I'd switch to my 50mm. As of early 2009, this is now my new primary lens.

I've used this lens for over a week now and I loved it. It has really helped me in certain low-light situations. I really like the range, although at its widest at 24mm, it could get a little tight but then a little step back wouldn't hurt either. This lens is pretty heavy too, but I don't really mind the extra weight it gives to my camera. Overall, this is a perfect photojournalism lens and great for events and weddings too, just the kind of things I capture on most occasion.

Wasting my shutter count with the Sigma 24-70

I bought a UV filter for it yesterday. I really don't want the glass to end up scratched, so protection is vital. I guess I know what my next lens would be; an ultra-wide and a telephoto to complete the range gap. First things first, I need to get a new camera bag! My stuff just ain't getting any lighter as it used to!

Two Point Eight

Say cheeeeeese! I'm gonna try out this lens for my wedding assignment later. If its good, then consider it sold - to me. I need the 'two point eight' in my artillery.

Fun With My 50mm

Money well spent! I've been using this beautiful piece of glass for a month now and so far it hasn't fail me. The sharpness and bokeh are superb. Even under poor lighting conditions, I could go flash-less with this thing and still capture magnificent quality shots. This should keep me busy while waiting for an external flash, which is exactly the next thing I'm gonna get after this. (Note to self: get the bloody damn SB-800 already!)

This lens is absolutely perfect for portrait photography and I'm still trying to get the hang of it. With the biggest aperture at f/1.8, this also happens to be a 'fast' lens, meaning that with faster shutter speed I'm able to freeze time and still keep images as sharp as it can be, unlike my 18-135mm kit lens. I'm so in love with fixed lenses right now.

Here are some random shots (mostly first attempts) taken with my Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8.
