The rehearsals have been going on very well and its only a couple of weeks left before the main events. I'm pretty excited about it myself. I went to the last play 'The Sunshine Boys' back in 2007 and it was hilariously fun. From the rehearsals we've been having for this upcoming Macbeth comedy play, its gonna turn out really great as well. Tickets are available for purchase today. Do not miss this play as its gonna be a one time event in Brunei!

Synopsis: A classic story about a group of ladies who attempt to stage Macbeth as their entry for a Drama Competition. The heavens conspire to ensure everything possible goes wrong, with series of mishaps occurring. But the valiant ladies struggle on regardless, though no one is quite good enough to save the day.

30 Days of Fasting

Today's the last day of Puasa for Brunei Darussalam and we'll be celebrating Aidilfitri tomorrow as was announced last night that the new moon could not be sighted yesterday. Which means that you're all at work today, and here I am in the office typing this entry (there's not really much work on the last day as everyone's already in their raya mood). I gotta say, I've had a remarkable month of Ramadhan this year, one of the reasons being that, as of today, my puasa is 30 days full! If I'm 10 years younger I'd be cashing in that 30 dollars from my parents right now. *LoL*

I feel so sad that we'll be leaving the greatest month in the Muslim calendar today. But hey, tomorrow's a big day eh. Anyway, here's a recap of what's been happening throughout this year's month of Ramadhan.

The SOAS Mosque 50th Anniversary

Today is the 50th Anniversary of the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan. The SOAS Mosque was officially opened on Friday, September 26th, 1958 (13th Rabiulawal 1378 Hijrah). Now it still stands in all its glory, and after a major face lift to commemorate its golden jubilee, the Mosque looks much more magnificent than ever before, especially at night.

I used to live in the capital when I was a kid at the now-demolished Flat Stoney in Jalan Stoney (behind the RTB building) from the mid 80's up until the mid 90's, and I got to live very close to this magnificent mosque. It only took me about 5 minutes walk from the flat to the mosque during Friday Prayers. So much has changed since then.

By the way, did you know that there was actually a cameo of the SOAS Mosque in the old film Tiga Abdul? (During the introductory part of the city of Isketambola)

August Is Here

Good morning readers. July has finally ended and today's the first day of another month of 2008. Can you believe it? We've already passed half of the year! Looking back, there has been so many things going on for the past 6 months, but there's more to look forward to in this second half of the year.

I'm doing well on my first month of my industrial attachment, but that's probably just the beginning. What I'm really anticipated about right now is our graduation but that's not gonna happen until next year. I just can't wait to graduate and move on to the next level. I just have to wait and endure the remaining months with my attachment at Armada Properties. Hey, At least I don't have to worry about homework, assignments and tests anymore. (Somehow I missed group assignments, sigh).

July has been a very busy month itself. The days of events and festivities have been crammed up and there's always something going on almost every week since the 15th. Ramadhan is just around the corner and expect to see a lot of stuff to cover on.

To start off the month of August, I've got 2 events to attend to this weekend. Tomorrow is the National Youth Day celebration and there will be an event to commemorate the day of youths at the Indoor Stadium. Whereas on Sunday, there will be 2 events but I'm not sure whether I could cover both. One is the bazaar at Pusat Ehsan and the other is the Go Kart Racing in Bandar.


I highly suggest that you give your support by coming over to the bazaar organized by Pusat Ehsan this coming Sunday. The Havoc Bloggers will be there so your face might show up in our blogs. Look your best and smile. ^_^

Baiduri Career Talk

I wasn't able to attend the morning function in the Business School yesterday due to unforeseen circumstances, but Marriz got it all covered. This was the Baiduri Career Talk held in the afternoon at the Corporate Lounge, exclusively for the current final year students of The Business School who will be embarking on their 6-month industrial attachments.

The talk is basically a brief information on the attractive career opportunities provided by the bank. I got there in time to shoot a few snaps of the event after lunch at RIPAS hospital with the rest of the Survey team. I wonder who's in my intake going for their attachments at Baiduri?

Sai's Niece's Birthday Party

Last night was little Rania Batrisya's birthday party at Sai's place. We sure had a blast, and the food was great. Sorry if the images are a tad blurry. I think I'll expect more night events coming up so I should start investing on an SB-800 speedlight pretty soon.

ICC Job Fair

I crashed to the International Convention Centre yesterday afternoon for the Annual Job Fair. Lots of graduates and youths flocked into the the event to sign up for a career talk and walk-in interview, an opportunity for the unemployed.


According to a UBD friend, statistics have shown that around 8000 locals are currently unemployed, among them are graduates. I suppose this event will help reduce the unemployment issue facing the nation, and a chance for the youth to unleash their talents.


Throughout my visit, I've seen potential SMEs showcasing their company booth and encouraging locals to apply for jobs in their organizations. Along the way, I've met several familiar faces.
